I’ve heard of similar projects in assorted places. I love the concept of re-purposing things like old shipping containers.

    These look smaller then typical shipping containers used in the US but it is an interesting idea. I would think they could also be used for disaster relief housing. Since they are shipping containers they could be easily transported to where they are needed by truck (lorry for those across the pond) or rail.
