Engineers Discover a 132-Year-Old Message in a Bottle in a Scottish Lighthouse

November 29, 2024 by Leo

If not as lucrative as a treasure map, the note turned out to be more relevant to their work, at least: It was a 132-year-old missive, written in ink, from former engineers and lighthouse keepers who were installing a new Fresnel lens and lantern at the top of the tower.

You have to click on “source” which takes you to the original article in New York Times.

It only listed the people who worked at the lighthouse. When the current workers do repairs, they’ll add a 2nd bottle with the present day workers names and jobs.
